TJJ Gratz College Credits

TJJ Participants can receive 3 college credits from Gratz College for only $300. It is as easy as completing your RootOne pre-summer requirements, attending TJJ over the summer, and submitting a reflection on the summer!

How does this work?

I. Pre-Summer Learning*

  • Gratz College produced 12 short videos about a range of early Zionists that are very well done and will count both for RootOne and Gratz College. Each video will include a handful of multiple-choice questions to check for understanding.
  • These videos will become available to teens when they complete their RootOne registration on the RootOne portal. For RootOne, teens will need to complete 6 additional nekudot on the portal separate from this course, including an opportunity to meet with an Israeli teen for a mifgash 5 times before the summer.
  • Each teen will attend 3 live workshops with NCSY staff members to bring the content of the pre-summer learning alive. The workshops will consist of the 3 following topics:
    • Torah of Eretz Yisrael: NCSY / TJJ Staff
    • Jewish Right to the Land of Israel: Rabbi Uri Pilichowski
    • Pre-Summer Regional Reflection: A reflection program facilitated by local regional staff either in person or over zoom.

*Pre Summer Learning will help you fulfill RootOne Nekudot requirements

II. Attending TJJ

  • Gratz College has agreed to count summer program hours toward class hours, so long as teens submit a reflection at the end of the summer about their educational experience in Israel.

III. Registering with Gratz College to Let the Credits Count

  • For only $300, teens can opt to receive 3 college credits from Gratz College for all of the steps they already completed on TJJ!
