At NCSY Summer, we know well that Jews are a people of the book. We provide each of our summer programs with a traveling library stocked with siddurim, Tehillims, Tanachs and a range of books on Jewish law, history and philosophy for participants to learn from and enjoy whenever they want.
Many of our programs’ participants use the books each and every day to study with their advisors, madrichim and madrichot, and each other. The resulting discussions always encourage new insights, lessons to apply to contemporary life, and fast and fierce friendships formed amid the magic of learning about the rich heritage and history of the Jewish people. At the end of the trip, each teen chooses a book to take home and continues finding inspiration and knowledge from it throughout the year and beyond.
